Meeting Minutes
September 15, 1999

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm by Mike Kirk.

Attendance was taken and is as follows:

The following homeowners were present and introduced:  Frank & Kathy Cooney, Vivian Heinrich, Cheryl & Tony Laroche

Also present:  Valerie Klock, Wixom Police Liason

Election of Officers


A vote was held to determine the Officers for 1999-2000.  Effectively immediately, the officers are:

  • Mike Kirk-     President
  • Steve Fuller-    Vice President
  • Steve Koester-   Treasurer
  • Jennifer Moloney-  Secretary


Committee Members were also determined.  They are as follows:
Architectural Committee-  Bob Hood, Fred Hayball
Finance Committee-  Steve Koester
Insurance Committee-  Mike Caldwell
Maintenance Committee-  Mike Kirk, Charles Chen, Steve Fuller, Nick Popoff
Rules Committee-  Bob Hood, Mike Caldwell
Activities Committee-  Mike Reckling, Mike Kirk


Wixom Police Liason

Valerie updated the Board Members as to the search for a man approaching children who has been seen in the Norton Creek subdivision.  She advised neighbors to be aware and to contact the Wixom police department immediately if they see any one suspicious or matching the description.

Meeting Minutes

It was noted that the March meeting minutes were complete and had been previously approved by the Board.  The vote to approve minutes for April and May was postponed until the July meeting.

Committee Reports


FINANCE COMMITTEE  (Steve Koester)

  • Steve noted that there were still 8 Homeowners with dues outstanding. 
  • Steve stated that he will file a lien with Oakland County on a house that is 4 years in arrears for dues payments.
  • Detailed reports for the period of April 21 - June 22 were distributed to Board members.


ACTIVITIES/WELCOMING COMMITTEE

  • A call for volunteers was made for the August 7th picnic.  It was noted that the budget for this year's picnic had been reduced to $1500.
  • Mike Reckling will chair the Picnic Committee for this year.


ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE

  • No report was given.


RULES/INSURANCE COMMITTEES

  • No report was given.


NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE

  • No report was given.


MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE

  • Bob solicited a quote from Landscape Dynamics for the entrances.  Mike K. and Bob will meet and decide on the course of action.
  • Mike K. stated that he never received a response from Premier Landscaping.  They are no longer a viable vendor.
  • Water Wheel has pending irrigation improvements.  Mike with meet with them to discuss improvements to the Subdivision and maintenance fixes at the 1st entrance.
  • It was suggested by the Homeowners at the Annual Meeting that an electrical outlet be added to the Weyhill Blvd. Island.  A motion was made to vote on adding the outlet, a vote was held- No electrical outlet will be added at this time.


End of Committee Reports


Old Business


  • There were no current maintenance issues.
  • Bob will submit the abridged by-laws to the board for approval at the July meeting.  Kathy Cooney will add the abridged by-laws to the new phone directory.  A disclaimer will be added noting that they are an abridged version only.
  • Mike spoke of the progress regarding turnover of Phase 3.  The developer has surveyed the site and Jacobson will clean up the park.
  • Kathy Cooney noted that she had sold numerous spaces in the phone directory to local business.  Few homeowners had responded to the request to add their information.  The board volunteered to go door to door to sign up neighbors as well as have a table at the Annual picnic for sign up.
  • The suggestion was made to add a neighborhood map to the phone directory.


New Business


  • A flier communicating picnic information was discussed.  The flier will be created and distributed once details of the picnic are finalized.
  • Mike Kirk proposed the creation of a Communication Committee which would blend together the Newsletter, Web,  & Welcoming Committees along with the Phone Directory project.  The vote was seconded and passed, and the committee was created.
  • Communication Committee-  Mike Kirk, Aileen Wingblad, Jennifer Moloney, Kathy Cooney (homeowner)


Call to the Public

  • The Board welcomed Cheryl & Tony Laroche- Lot 230 in Phase 3- to the neighborhood.



The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, July 21st at the Wixom Community Center.

Meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm.
